Florida falls to #46 in average SAT scores

Florida’s continued failures in K-12 education hit a new low this week when the College Board released its 2023 report on SAT testing in the United States.


While the Florida governor and legislature spent their time picking (and losing) fights with Disney, banning pronouns, demonizing teachers and librarians, and removing hundreds of books from library shelves, Florida students continued to fall behind in college readiness.


I investigated the trends in the past five years for the Sunshine State, along with other states, to understand what’s happening and what can be done about it.
